Laura Ogden

Laura is an Associate at CR Lawyers LLP whose practice includes family law and civil litigation. She also has a particular interest in labour and employment law and in unusual property law issues – especially those that reward curiosity, careful research, and a willingness to dig for an answer.

Laura came to law after a 15-year career in social services, where she worked in information and referral, schools, and addiction and recovery. That experience continues to shape her practical, people-centred approach to advocacy and problem-solving.

An avid learner, Laura spent a year conducting research with the Law Commission of Ontario while also working in the law library at Lakehead University. She enjoys complicated questions, unusual fact patterns, and making complex information useful and understandable. Laura believes strongly in sharing knowledge and resources and in finding creative, proportionate solutions for her clients.

Laura was born and raised in Thunder Bay and moved to Vancouver Island in 2018 after eight years in Alberta. Outside the office, she is a plant lover, hardcore thrifter, and devout water enthusiast who enjoys swimming and paddle boarding.
